The President's Message

*ANOTHER SAD LOSS

As reported last month's  letter, we were deeply saddened by the loss of long time member Irma Cave.  Again we just lost a another special member of our club on April 5, John Watson after a long and vigil fight with cancer.

John was always involved in the PNMOC activities.  Need help?  John raised his hand.  Committees, yep.   Officer, yep. John, as a lot of us members, was brought into the world of Metropolitans by his wife's love of the vehicle.  He loved power, noise, rat-rods, etc, so the little 50+hp Met wouldn't have been his first choice.  But fit in he did.  Always there to keep their little Black and White coupe ready to go.  His sense of humor, often subtle,  kept us laughing and happy.  His great personality made him friends  with all who met him.  His easy going style, hid his great intelligence and knowledge.  Although he has physically left us, he is still with us in spirit.  His presence is tattooed in our memory bank and hearts with wonderful memories, that we get to keep forever.

Metros Participate in Holiday Parade!

The 27th annual My Macy’s holiday Parade was held on November 24th this year in Seattle, and this was our 23rd year as participants!   PNMOC’s  ten car team was a crowd favorite, judging by the waves, smiles, cheers and comments of “Cute!" and "Love that car!"” we received from the viewers along the route.   We lucked out on the weather; rainless and warm enough to bring out thousands of happy people who lined the streets to watch the parade.  Our formation of festively decorated Metros motored along the one mile parade route that meandered through the downtown retail core.  After shedding our holiday decorations at route’s end we caravanned and rendezvoused at a local Denny’s restaurant where we all enjoyed a well deserved and tasty brunch.   Well done, entrants – can’t  wait for next year!

Thank you to everyone who shared their pictures, including my sister Bev.
